what i was saying was that my post was censored as well.

all my post had said was that i felt concerned for him and his family, as a community member.

btw...regarding me speculating...i had said i didn't care if he was or wasn't healthy...i said that it was important for him to be found. that is NOT speculation. go reread.

there was absolutely NO reason for mine to have been delete/censored. that is ridiculous.

that is why i am angry...i was censored for being an interested and concerned citizen.

SAD.

I'd be more specific about the problem, but I don't want to bring the subject back up.

this is a forum. and i am allowed to speak my mind.

This is a forum that allows you to speak your mind within the limits followed by the moderators, dictated by taste, decorum and legal considerations.

Just like every other forum out there.

If you're really gone - unlike the last time you said you were - it appears they will have one less ego case insisting they're at fault because he or she refuses to acknowledge their realities.

Be sure to head over to Cumberlink and cry some more about it. Or start your own forum where you can say whatever the heck you want until some lawyer slaps you with a subpeona.

So much for trying to nice...

Could the mod who deleted my entire post please PM me and let me know how the entire thing was unsuitable? I don't know how to make it any more generic and non-specific.

Is it not permissible to discuss 'what-if' scenarios that involve no specific person just because a similar story may be occurring in "real life"?

I think you're being pretty harsh, Mixolydian. I understand how Cookiegirl feels - she was only trying to be nice and seemed genuinely concerned. I saw her post. I didn't think it included anything that needed to be deleted either.

Nuuuu, Cookie!! Stay! How are you going to tell me when your website is up?!!

Citizen, I missed all of your posts except for the one I responded to initially and the one asking for the PO to message you. Which bites, because you typically present such well-thought arguments.

Anyone else have theories or opinions on this story, or is it best to just let this rest for now?

We have asked people not to speculate on this site, although it is natural to want to do so in such a case, and we hope everyone will respect that. Discussing the case in a bar or on a street corner is different from talking about it online. When you post online you are publishing your opinion and therefore are subject to libel laws. To make suggestions about this man's personal life which have not been verified publicly by authorities may be legally actionable. Please do not do this. Thank you.

Thank you postaff. I'm still not sure if I posted anything to this thread,
but again, if I did make an objectionable post, I sincerely apologise.

This thread went off the rails. Some refused to heed warnings, and repeatedly reposted deleted posts. Others clearly didn't understood what they were doing, but nonetheless declined to trust the mods' judgment, and then got selfish and whiny and took their ball home.

I'm just afraid that if the forums become too much a PITA to control, they'll simply disappear. So until a mod tells me I'm overstepping my bounds, I will continue to prod and explain as best I can.

As for my being harsh, well, perhaps my execution didn't rise to the level of my intentions, much like Cookiegirl's...

We appreciate your concern, Mixolydian. But we'll let you know if we need any help in that respect.

And you were a bit harsh. Tone it down a bit, okay?

Thank you postaff,

Mixolydian,
Cookis was trying to be helpful and you really hurt her feelings. Yes, Cookie Monsters have feelings, too. (Maybe that's why they are blue?) I spoke (typed) with her earlier today and tried to talk (type) her in to staying around. Please don't run more people off. That's the moderators job. Wink
