See, I KNEW you were going to do that!

Quit stereotyping!! Very Happy

I wouldn't call the guy a dealer...he's an employee at a hunting supply store.

I joke about becoming a firearms dealer so I can get all the cool stuff I want...>turns on baby voice and puppy dog eyes< You don't think I'm a single issue voter, do you Coppy?

Despite the personal exclusion (thanks, BTW), I'm going to take issue with this. This is a pretty broad generalization. I'd say it could be as equally applied to "Franklin County residents" as it could be to "someone selling firearms".

I'm assuming this is a 'chain' type dealer, not a private FFL?

Your assumption would be correct.

I always know I can count on you to have the correct information on firearms! Very Happy

Sorry! Sad I've had to be very cautious with my public comments on firearms issues that last several weeks. I have a little more flexibility now.

I'd post on other topics if I felt I had something to contribute, but I guess I'll have to settle for being the resident gun nerd.

Or Men. Or Country Folk. Or Southerners. Or Yankees. Or Texans. Especially Texans.

Of course it was an unfair, stereotypical and broad generalization! That doesn't excuse the clerk from making the comments he did, but I don't mean to come across like that. Certainly there are many responsible, informed gun owners and dealers who care strongly about many things.

Sometimes I just can't help myself... bad coppy!

Funny Things Local Clerks Have Said to You:

Actually it was to my wife, but the stories the same.

She had lunch a Burger King with a friend and upon returning to her car she could not find the car keys.

Assuming she had left them on the counter inside she proceeded to the counter employees station that had processed her order. The conversation went something like this:

My wife: "I can't find my car keys, did I leave them here?"
Counter person: " Oh no mam, we don't sell cookies".
My wife: "I am looking for my car keys. Did you find any on the counter?"
Counter person: "No mam - we don't sell cookies, but McDonalds across the street does."
My wife: "I do not want cookies - I am looking for my car keys."
Counter person: "Oh you are the one who left the carrrrkies."
My wife: "#$@ %$^$#$%% my car keys - please!"
Counter person: "Here are your carrrrkies, mama!"

(Shortened for space consideration - but you get the idea!)

This wasn't really funny as much as creepy, odd, scary...

Last night a salesperson said (after my 11 year old son tried to discuss presidential politics with him) that the only reason he wanted Clinton or Obama to get elected was so he could see a president be assassinated. He then proudly informed us that he and several other individuals had taken bets on, if they were elected, how many days after inauguration it would be before their untimely end.

That's just awful, no matter where you stand politically. To say that to, or in front of, a child is even worse! Shocked

Just today I ordered a complicated mocha drink at Sheetz, and stood there for at least 10 minutes waiting.

When the clerk finally handed it to me, he smiled sheepishly and said, "Sorry it took so long, but it was made with love."

I said: "Thanks, but I would have preferred a quickie."

PostPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2008 4:19 am    Post subject: What kind of dressing would you like on your CEASAR SALAD? Reply with quote

It seems to happen a lot around here and I do not know if it because people do not understand what a Ceasar Salad is, or if they do not like Ceasar dressing, but when I order a Ceasar Salad, I get annoyed when I am asked "What kind dressing would you like on that?" My question is, why order a Ceasar Salad if you do not want Ceasar Dressing on it??

On another note,

My brother visits Chambersburg a few times a year. On one particular visit, he stopped at a local gas station to get gas and the cashier asked him if he had gas... He could feel himself turn red in the face before he realized she was asking him if he was paying for gas. He never stops telling that story.
