LOL!! Coppy, that's an egg made over easy. It's called a dippy egg, I'm assuming, because lots of us like to dip our toast or bread into the yolk to sop up the yellowy goodness.

See bobo, that's not exactly true!

A dippy egg means different things to different people. It could be over easy, sunny side up, fried, steam fried, poached or even over medium. Any variation of an egg with a runny yolk.

Please remember this when you're out for breakfast and your server asks how you like your eggs... because dippy isn't very descriptive!

Razz

I do know birds in a nest is a variation of eggs cooked in bread or french toast.

See, I didn't know that.
When I was 10 or so I would take a piece of toast cut a whole in the middle and cook an egg in it for my baby sister. We called it an Egyptian Eye.

So, it's actually Birds in a Nest?

Tell me more

No, it's called "Elephant ears"!

Isn't funny all the differing names for the exact same thing?

Technically, it's called an "egg in a basket."

Forget it.

I give up.

This has officially become too complicated. Laughing

Never been a big fan of eggs that aren't mixed up with something else, anyway.
