I've done a lot of research on this, and it seems that there are some legitimate arguments against cheap HDMI cables, but not enough to justify the costs of $100+ cables.

They do carry hi-res audio which is the big advantage to HDMI. But then again, it is digital. 1's and 0's. Either they're working or they're not. If I have problems with a $10 HDMI cable, then I have no problem going out and getting a slightly more expensive one or just a replacement.

And the USA is behind the times in all kinds of technology compared to countries like Japan and South Korea. Particularly in Internet and broadband technology; not so much in A/V unless you consider content provided over broadband connections.

The other one I have from thinkgeek (that I will actually wear) says <geek> on the front and </geek> on the back.
