I have to admit, as an avid fantasy baseball participant, Jake Peavy really sealed the deal for me last year. He's unstoppable. I don't know if they have the offense to make it to the post season this year; especially with the improvement of other teams in the west. |
Gee Coppy, I love my CHARGERS, my PADRES and JIMMY JOHNSON. Oh and Mark Malone (ex-QB Steelers) and I were great friends. (Actually we graduated from high school together.) Now, you tell me. |

I'm a Mets fan, what do you think? Or are you still holding onto hope that John Rocker will return to baseball
Sounds like you've got a pretty good reason for liking the Padres Queenie; did you ever live in Southern California?
And Tele, I was lucky enough to land some great young pitchers in fantasy this past year; Lincecum, Carmona and Gallardo. That probably helped. It's good to do some research on the up-and-coming players, particularly last year.
I love the ballpark in Baltimore but the fans have got to be some of the most boring in baseball. It doesn't help that their team is so awful; the whole club sort of deflated since Cal left. I wish they played in the NL; I haven't been to a Nats game yet but probably this year. |

Yeah, I definitely watch the young up and coming players. My league actually has a 10 man minor league roster(5 of which we can keep for hte following year) on top of the regular roster. We're able to stash minor leaguers on that roster until they get called up. I have a lot of really knowledgeable baseball people in my league so you really have to do your homework.
Camden is a really great place to see a game. I just wish they would get rid of their ridiculous owner so they could be competitive again. |

Ummm, let me think...I went to high to ( and jr high) with Malone, the Nelson family and my family went to the theatre together once a month, although Greg Louganis went to another high school in our disctrict and he is a year or two younger than I, he taught me how to do a back flip with a twist at the Gillespie Field pool when we were on oposing swim teams and friends. (Heck, I knew he was gay before he knew he was gay! We had been swimming together for years and years.)
I was fortuned with wonderful parents, who probably spoiled my sister and I rotten with enlightening and broadening our scope of friends. The joys of living in S. CA.

Sorry Chel! Would it help to tell you that I don't really know Jimmy Johnson? It was his Uncle who took me to my high school prom!
I won't tell you all who I know then. You'd have to come and borrow my chair! |

Oh, no you don't! No NASCAR Queenie for me. Football Queenie, TV Queenie, Movie Queenie, Political Queenie, Water skiing/speedboat/hydroplane Queenie, maybe even a little Baseball Queenie. But, I don't personally know any of the NASCAR drivers, yet. LOL
Hey, there is a kid from Chambersburg who is/was a tire changer for the Hendricks team (Kyle Busch, until he went over to Gibbs)!
PO, get on that. Will ya? His family still lives here. I hope he still works for Hendricks!! |

Yeah baby!
Way back when (in the 60's and early 70's) I knew the driver of Miss Bud, Bernie Little. RIP Bernie.
Toes OK Chel?

Looks like Bedard will be a Mariner by the end of the week. I think it's a good trade for the O's and the Mariners. The O's are getting some nice young players, namely Adam Jones, and the Mariners are getting a very good pitcher to pair with Felix Hernandez.
The Mariners have a good shot at the Wild Card this year with this trade. The AL west is pretty weak with the exception of the Angels and I think the central and the east will be very competitive. |

| I read today that there are a few teams looking to possibly sign Benson. Philly seems to be the most interested though. |

This may be a total chick question, but how did ya'll decide which team would be yours?
Obviously, as previously mentioned, I'm from GA. My loyalty has always belong to the Atlanta Braves, not a big pro football fan, college football-> GA Tech, (yes, I'm used to that losing feeling) and even though I don't know all the rules of hockey, I enjoy watching the game.
Back to the question, the Braves have left me cold the last few years. I'm not P.O'd with them, I just stopped caring. My man Maddox is gone, so is Javy Lopez; Shmoltzy is still around, but I'm just not feeling it. Oh, and I hate Chipper. (I'm pretty sure that statement alone will get me excommunicated from the Church of the Braves.)
So, what's left for a former fan? Do I wander lost? Do I hang on to the Braves for native land sake? How do I get back that lovin' feeling?
Suggestions? _________________ I demand euphoria! |
