Who wants to chat about good shows when there have been so many bad ones.

The first offering - Small Wonder

I don't know how many of you remember this treat. It was a wonderful family tv show, on ABC I believe. It was about a family that had a robot. A little girl robot. It made me want to remove my mind (and I was in the target demographic). In reality I think the ugly beat of nepotism somehow came through on this one. I think this must have been how the show was created:

Anonymous executive, "I want my daughter in a tv show."
Producer, "Yes sir!"
Executive leaves.
Director, "She acts like a machine for crying out loud!"
Producer, "That's it shes not just a precocious little girl, she's a ROBOTIC little girl. Summon the writers!"

All I have to hear is mention of that show and I want to shriek.

Who has some others?

Anyone watch John From Cincinnati? What was that all about? I love HBO as much as the next person, but this show pushed some boundaries of weirdness and boredom that I wasn't willing to cross. And I watched... and watched hoping, like most HBO series, it could only get better.

I'd much rather something weird and interesting, like the pre-maturely canceled Carnivale than shows about levitating surfers and insufferably annoying characters. If I wanted that, I could just watch Cavemen (which I assume is relevant to this rant in some way).

I don't want writers to think I'm badmouthing them though; please come back... please! I can't take another show of lie detectors, celebrity bickering and randomly pointing at suitcases to randomly win money.

I agree this is in no way a knock on writers (unless they were responsible for Dinosaurs).

I haven't had a cable subscription for about six years, for many of the reasons y'all are citing.

So I'm gonna stay outta this one, unless universally-loathed groaners like Mama's Family and that Simpsons rip-off with the family of dinosaurs also apply...

That would be Dinosaurs with the favorite line of Doctor Kird Ape's "Not the mama."

And it's accompanying bonk on the head.

Anyone want to borrow the dvds? Very Happy

NO!

I thought I saw those on the shelf once in a nightmare.

Why in the world was there a Caveman show?

A show about that little lizard would have been more amusing.

When he was British, yeah.

The little Australian irritates the crap out of me; which is all that matters.

This may be one of the worst shows, and I have only caught glimpses of it from The Soup and Best Week Ever and that was enough to leave me running in fear.

The Hills.

Next they'll make a commercial about the Verizon guy or those slow Comcast turtles.

I could come up with a wonderful show about the Verizon guy.

It could be an HBO series. Kind of like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest meets Who's the Boss.

Its the tale of a young man who works for Verizon. After a major account he tries to land falls through he goes on a bender. At 7 am he climbs a pole and bites a fiber optic line and nearly dies.

After his hospital stay, he moves to New England and works as a house keeper, but believes he is assisted by his Verizon posse.

Once his boss realizes he is communicating with the Verizon crew, she has him institutionalized. However his crew seems very real! So are they imaginary, or did they come to life?

The series will end when Comcast decides.
