Check this out from today's paper. Looks like they were only targeting those going over 90 mph.
| Quote: | I-81 speeders include 4 doing over 100 mph
Staff report
Four people where cited in January for traveling more than 100 mph on Interstate 81.
Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, cited another 13 people for driving more than 90 mph along the Franklin County portion of the highway.
State Police last year said speeding, especially on the interstate, is a problem. Officials said they "particularly watch for motorists traveling at very high rates of speed. They are a danger not only to themselves, but everyone else on the road."
Jonathan Wor, 18, and Jake Bishop, 20, both of Chambersburg, were clocked in January at 111 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to a release issued Tuesday.
Others cited include:
- Christina Reilly, 32, of Luzerne, 91 mph
- Ryan Newswanger, 18, of Reinholds, 111 mph
- Trista Lytle, 18, of Shippensburg, 90 mph
- Gensi Aviles-Akevalo, 32, of Holland, Mich., 93 mph
- Todd Johnson, 39, of Chambersburg, 95 mph
- Devon Ramsey, 18, of Hustontown, 101 mph
- Corey Binkley, 17, of Chambersburg, 95 mph
- Amelia Guy, 18, of Greencastle, 93 mph
- Marguerite Hill, 49, of Brockton Mass., 92 mph
- Justin Gallo, 21, of Shippensburg, 96 mph
- Justin Sproehnle, 26, of Harrisburg, 97 mph
- Mary Houlihan, 18, of Allendale, N.J., 96 mph
- Gregory Stallsmith, 32, of Cashtown, 100 mph
- Caitlin Laub, 18, of Neshanic, N.J., 93 mph
- Suresh Manukonda, 37, of Morgantown, W.Va., 91 mph.

I have been known to speed. It is especially easy in my Subaru, it's the first car I've had that does not 'put up a fight' when you go over 60 mph
(okay, my Saturn didn't either, but I did less traveling then.)
I've received all of my speeding tickets while making long distance trips.
Hours traveling, boredom, packs of cars yo-yo ing, fatigue; all are factors that contribute.
Best just to set the cruise control. _________________ Nevermind. |
