Similar to the Bad Tv thread, but the flip-side!

Old Time: I think one of the best shows from a by gone era, which is available on DVD in its entirety....The Prisoner.

If you have a rental source (brick and mortar or online) and have not seen this show, check it out.

On the Air: Battlestar Galactica

If you can get over Starbuck and Boomer being women, and actually get into the show it worthwhile tv.

(Also for the Dr. Who fan that grew up, check out Torchwood on BBC America)

DVR = Good

I still think the funniest show HBO ever put together was The Larry Sanders Show. There'd be no Jeffrey Tambor or Arrested Development without it.

Plus, Rip Torn, the guy from Kids in the Hall, and Garry Shandling are all hysterical.

Also the David Duchovney (sp?) guesting parts were great.

Have you ever seen the Prisoner?

Only bits and pieces late at night back when I had cable. Never sat down with the entire run, though I've heard before it's very good.

Give it a try some time. The beginning of the series is all gravy, there are some odd episodes in the mix and the end is just baffling.

Okay, I'll just say it.

I thought The Sopranos was pretty good viewing.

Ninja Warrior would never make it the US as an original show. I don't think American audiences could handle the fact that most of the time there are no winners. I think this show is great. I watched it on a lark, and was mesmerized. I highly recommend it.

Never been a fan of Fargate, other than the movie. I am a fan of Dr. Who and have been. I was very sad by the new series 1 finale, and devastated by the new series 2 finale! Those writers were so evil.

I am big proponent of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Venture Brothers as well.

Sopranos began to annoy me in the season before last, so I quit watching it.

is there anything funnier than ninja warrior when the guys try to do a heroic jump and end up sliding off and falling into the muddy water?

it just cracks me up...i tell myself i'll only watch it thru one commercial, but i end up staying for the entire show. then end up watching that g4 product spam show and the g4 freebie show. and yes i've tried to win the freebies. no i haven't yet.

lol!!!

Rome was one of my favorite HBO shows ever; I watched the first season in about 2 days. You just can't stop watching and, for the most part, it's historically accurate which just shows how awesome the Romans were.

I was a huge fan of Carnivale before its premature cancellation. I'd love to see a movie to tie things up at least.

Sopranos was always my favorite, but the huge amount of time between seasons and all the guessing left me behind. I have yet to see the last season.

Six Feet Under also started out great, but slowed down as the plot really just centered on how everyone's life completely sucks no matter what you do.

Deadwood was one of the greatest shows ever made in the history of the universe.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is laugh out loud funny, if you can manage to not leave the room from absolute horror; the whole "cringe comedy" isn't for everyone.

Extras is very clever and, what I'd call an acquired taste, Flight of the Conchords really proved to be hilarious upon some second viewings. And I can't forget about Entourage, if not for it's pure, entertainment value. It's good because it makes characters you'd think would be the most unlikable people in the world and makes them likable. Plus Jeremy Piven is awesome.

John From Cincinnati was awful and only got worse as it got weirder. My sigoth liked it though, so what do I know.

I have never seen The Wire; but I will. Oh yes, I will.

HBO subscription used to be worth its weight in gold, but lately, with the best shows ended and the writer's strike, I'm having trouble keeping the subscription.

And now for something completely different...

I never, ever watched CMT until this past weekend. I was flipping through the channels late, and I was bored. I caught part of Country Fried Home Videos, and then, on came My Big Redneck Wedding.

It's completely ridiculous, but I laughed so hard I was crying. My boyfriend was highly skeptical about a show with both "redneck" and "wedding" in the title and almost bailed, but he thought it was hilarious, mostly for how crazy it is. If you want a good laugh over something silly, watch it. New episodes are on Friday nights. Laughing

What is the Redneck Wedding about? Just people planning their weddings?
