Yes anon-coward, they do have 20 years and Greene Twp will do their best on issues they have control/ authority over, as always.

Just tired of people beating up on Greene for issues they have absolutely NO control over, ie our elustrious PennDot!!!!!

Greene does take an awful lot of beating; can they take the blame for proposing over 800 new homes around the mall but continue to stifle and prevent any kind of commercial development in the area?

Yes, I know PennDot is taking some sort of "revenge" out on Greene when it comes to that stupid overpass, but I'm about ready to just boycott everything in Greene Township on my own principles.

Vote to make Greene wet! Cool

Coppy, think we've discussed this before, but would you or ANYONE please provide an example of how the Greene Twp Supers are stifling or preventing commercial development!!!!!

And YES, PLEASE all Greene citizens, VOTE THE TWP WET !!!!!!

See, just trying to rile ya up! I'm so glad that there are Greene twnshp residents who actually support some responsible development... are you saying that Greene township has absolutely no say over the 800 proposed new homes in an area whose infrastructure cannot support it?

Everything should be done in moderation and responsibly, like drinking!

And yes, that's correct. If the developer meets all twp requirements, regs, zoning, etc, there is very little if anything they can do to prevent it.

I don't buy it. How about thinking out of the box? If our neighbors in Washington and Frederick counties can put moratoriums on development entirely, our townships should be able to say no to developments where roads, water, sewer, etc., can't support those developments.

I know this topic is old... but two things to address.

My frustration regarding the bridge project wasn't directed at Greene Twp. specifically. I just hope with the 250+ home addition that they CONSIDERED the traffic nightmare (only to get worse... starting today 5/1/08 actually).

9am-3pm One way traffic I believe.

Second thought. If enough supporters from Greene Twp. are interested in petitioning a "wet" township (I know it's been tried before... but having it on the books and persistent pressure WILL get noticed) I'm more than willing to take the ball and run with it.

Township meetings are 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month at 7:00pm in downtown Scotland, PA (1145 Garver Lane).

Unfortunately I don't live in Greene; I'm just on the border, in the borough. But I would sign if I can... absolutely.

beside traffic considerations, consider the growth spurt of schools. we've already expanded...and our idiotic high school is just renovating (biting my tongue)....which all the "new" schools and renovation is all fine and dandy for now but what about in 10 years? 15?

geez.

the horrors.

let's just all hook up to computers and never leave our houses. hahahaha.....
