I know there aren't any in Chambersburg, but I've heard rumors there may be some in Gettysburg, Carlisle, etc. Do you guys know of any places?

I don't believe there is a Thai restaurant in Gettysburg, but if there is, please let us know!

As cookie said, the only Thai fix I can get locally is Amy's Thai in Carlisle. And I absolutely love it. Not only do they have an extensive menu, but they also have a buffet every night. I recommend the buffet to try some various items, like pad thai, curries, soups and seafood or pork dishes. But, if it's too crowded, I've found that they have trouble restocking (especially the pad thai).

It's on West High Street, so if you get off at the Hanover St exit, drive through town and turn left on High Street at the courthouse, it's only a few blocks down. It's also within walking distance of Alibi's and Market Cross for a nice after-dinner beer selection.

Harrisburg is now loaded with Thai restaurants though, and I believe Frederick has one. I have also been to Bangkok Wok in Mechanicsburg, one of the oldest Thai restaurants in the area, and it is also excellent.

There's an excellent Thai restaurant in Dillsburg, Pakha's Thai House. It's beside the cigarette outlet on the main strip through Dillsburg, on the right if you're headed north on Rt 15. I checked for a website but it looks like they are only reviewed, no menu. It doesn't look like much from the outside but is definately worth the trip!

Thanks to all for the suggestions! I had heard vaguely of places in Carlisle and Dillsburg but never enough detail to figure out how to get there. I look forward to trying both Amy's and Pakha's!

Another Favorite of ours is the Bangkok House Thai Restaurant located 3401 Hartzdale Dr, Camp Hill, PA in a small strip mall.

We often go to Bangkok Wok but for a change we go here, especially when they have their Sunday Buffet.

I've never been to Bangkok House; what's this about a Sunday buffet?

Typically I despise buffet's, but Amy's in Carlisle has a small but excellent buffet where you can sample different dishes. It's nice since Thai restaurants tend to have about 500 different dishes listed on their menus and it can be a bit daunting for Thai noobs. It's easy to go for the Pad Thai every time, but I like to sample some of their soups and curries and Amy's buffet lets me do that.

You can't go when it's crowded though; the buffet is so small that there's never anything available at peak hours.

Don't recall their hours so might want to check if plan on going. It was very good and worth the trip, imo.
