Hey, house music is my current passion! Nice to meet a fellow fan. Who are your favorites? I love anything by Jay-J. And I LOVE going on iTunes to look for stuff I haven't heard.
But over the years, I've been a fan of many genres. My tastes evolve. I was raised on Classic Rock and Motown. Then moved to Californa mellow like Eagles, Jackson Browne and others (Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, Springsteen, Dylan, The Band, Steely Dan, Todd Rundgren were favorites). Also country-rock bands like Poco. And then, a complete about-face to Disco (still, among my favorite tunes to listen to even now) and then 80s funk. In the 90s, I got into a lot of club music and a bit of grunge.
Now, alas, I don't even listen to much current music - except for House! Oh, and I like jazz nowadays too - Miles Davis and Coltrane, etc. Never thought I would but I've acquired a taste for it and it's really satisfying.
I love talkin' music.

saw band of horses in concert. great performance. took me by surprise. bought their album the next day and just got their new release...which is pretty good.... |

Galactic had that New Orleans backline going on... I can't believe their old drummer went to Corrosion of Conformity...

I love live music too and many moons ago saw a lot of great bands live...Jethro Tull, Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, ELO, Todd Rundgren, George Duke, 3 Dog Night, Alice Cooper, Humble Pie, Alvin Lee, The Clash, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sly and the Family Stones, J Geils, Rush, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Billy Preston, Deep Purple, Vanilla Fudge, Heart, The Police and...on and on.
After looking over my list, I suppose these acts would be what many would call dinosaur bands. LOL
But, these albums are still mucho fun to listen to. |
Hey Punchmo, Just a shot in the dark here, I have been trying for some time now to get a hold of Alvin Lee's Detroit Desiel on CD. I have the album that I still enjoy but would love to have it on CD. Any suggestions?

Jimbo, I don't know...maybe Amazon or Google Alvin Lee and the cd title. The only Alvin Lee stuff I have is vinyl of his "10 Years After" project. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Just curious, why would you want the cd (most likely horribly remastered) over the vinyl you already have unless of course, you have worn it out?

Jimbo, just had another thought. If it's portability you are after and the album you have is still playable, dump it to your 'puter and burn your own cd

I have tried that Punhmo but it doesn't have the clear sound I'm looking for. I have checked out some web sites but the only CD's I could find were well over 50 dollars! I guess they didn't make that many at the time it was released. It's a great album. If you see the album you should buy it. Thanks for the suggestion. |
