Other one -4.50, -3.54
I find it great to be in the same quadrant as Ghandi and totally exilierating that I am not in the quadrant shared by Bush & Hitler.
I find it horrifying to think how some people answered these questions to get the positive ratings - especialy 6.
I also find the questions questionable. The immigration question had no answer that fit my views - were we to assume immigration was illegal immigration? |

I wonder if these classifications are today's guidelines or say those of the late 80's.
I feel that I was a conservative then but have turned into a liberal now without a lot of change in my thoughts. Has today's neocons made the utra - conservation, Bible thumpers, death to the gays the new everyday conservative theeby pushing the more traditional Reagan Republicans into the ranks of today's liberals? |

the site is pretty up to date, questions are written for today. I frist saw it circa 2003, I believe some questsions have changed.
remember, that quadrant is also shared by obama and hillary, doesn't make them or bush exactly like hitler though |

i think you were to assume the immigration was legal, remember it's not an issues quiz, rather an ideology. i don't want to bring the immigration debate into here, but legal vs illegal is kind of moot as far as ideology goes. in other words. if we made it legal for anyone to immigrate, would you support it. ie, illegal immigration wouldn't exist |

What was that meeting of the conservatives in DC? The one where Romney quit the campaign? The one with the Coulter lovers. Gay is sin and all abortion is murder. The one where Huckabee is not conservative enough. No evolutiuon and global warming doesn't exist because man is too puny & irrelevant to change God's creation of Earth.
In the 80's, those people there would have been called "way out there" , weido conservatives but now, they are just conservatives.
Everything has been shifted toward the left. The qustions aren't the problem, it is like we've been graded on the curve. In the 80's, we might have been conservative or centrist but now, because of neocon overload , we have dropped to the ranks of the evil liberals. |

politics have always been a little reactionary. that's why a lot of our history has by cyclical. (ie Britain having all the power leads to revolutionary war leads to Jacksonian Democracy, leads to rich seeking power in corporations, Gilded Aged leads to Populist movement and Progressive age, leads to resurgence of corporate power w/ lobbyists and now, Corporations regaining power is leading to this current Populist/Progressive movement)
As a whole though, it's hard to deny a steady move to more liberal policies and a more liberal society when you look at things like Emancipation--->Civil Rights movement, Woman's suffrage movement --> today most women having careers, etc. |
