I thought maybe this forum would be a good place to voice a complaint about bad customer service. I just moved and of course had to have electric, water, cable, trash service and so on switched. I am pretty disgusted with how bad some company's customer service is. Called IESI to get trash service and they were unable to immediately tell me what day trash got picked up in my area so of course they were to call me back. Whaddya know, I never heard a thing back from them. When I first called Comcast I was on the phone with a lady that said that they did not service my are but that she would fill out a survey to see if it was possible to get service. After calling back to see what they had determined the guy that answered the phone told me that he didn't understand why she didn't just sign me up for service. Then to make it even more agitating the person that was to call back to set up a time to service never did so now we are patiently waiting a week to get cable. I actually work in customer service and the company that I work for is regarded for having the best customer service department in the industry. Now maybe I am wrong folks, but you would think that companies would push for better than just "acceptable" customer service, considering the guy or gal on the other end of the phone is in the only voice to the customer is going to hear in most cases. Please share with me your complaints and whines!

These are companies without competitors. There isn't much we can do.

Comcast has Dish TV and Direct TV as competitors.

They're technically not "direct competitors."

Bad customer service surely out weighs the good customer service, is at least my experience. the number one offender is fast food. i can't for the life of me understand why people support these places (and i do as well, nearly every week). They forget one of the sides of your order (eight weeks in a row); they put the fries upside down on the top of your bag so the fries go all over everything else in your bag; no condiments - your down the road on the way to work and discover no butter or syrup for the hotcakes, no ketchup for your hash round/s; cold coffee; cold fries (this is my number one pet peeve); fish sandwich instead of a burger; on and on and on. I have written to the corporate offices of several of these stores as well as talked to the managers at some; and it does NO good. we continue to go there because it's fast and generally good if you get what you want the way you want it. i know, just think of the starving thrid world countries!!

You make an excellent argument, but you yourself admit that you go there and tolerate the supreme incompetence of fast food employees. Why people still line up at the McDonalds drive through is beyond my every comprehension.

And despite my own weakness for Taco Smell, I've basically sworn off places like McDonalds and Burger King as places that assume they're doing us a favor with bad advertising, awful customer service and disgusting food that is slowly killing the entire country.

And then everyone complains about places that charge a little more for a better product. You most certainly get what you pay for, and a "dollar menu" most certainly isn't worth it.

I have been on a health kick lately due to a fact that they found a mass on my brain ( nothing to be too freak out yet, but I go for another CT on Friday) and I am Uncle Buck fat, so I have done really well for the last 30 days but I stopped at McDonald's (first time at any FF place in 7 weeks) and I had a Mighty Kids Meal and I was on the commode within a hour with a case of Back door trots that I have not had since I was a kid with the flu

I had the same problems with getting comcast out at my home, they don't come out here, yet if you cross the RR tracks they have it there. The same as internet service. I was put through a bunch of crap, just to get a Fricken phone!!! The worst part was being transfered to many different people trying to figure things out. I hate it when I have to talk to someone that I can't understand. I always have to ask for someone that speaks English!!!!!!!!

My favorite was when we went to Comcast to turn in our old box and were given a bunch of shiite in a bag and told it was a self-install. Now we don't have some channels upstairs that we get downstairs. I figure out enough stuff at work that when I get home I don't have enough patience left to deal with a can that won't open properly in the can opener let alone figure out the fukkning Comcast hookup. Sorry for the nasty attitude but I've been working from home all weekend and have to deal with more work tomorrow - LOL, kind of. Mad

You were conditioned as a child.

Crappy McDonald's food=a Happy Meal

Only now, instead of a toy made in China, you get cold fries.

Break the cycle John! Break the Cycle!!
