| carlisle's ok...i honestly have never seen the appeal (used to work there and have tried pretty much all the restaurants/stores)....i have always been a bigger fan of hagerstown. more interesting, imho. |

I never really eat or shopped in Hagerstown. I have friends that work at CitCorp which I think is around there |

I've been to The Pike. It seems to be one of the locals' favorite places even though it gets touristy. It's also the local wedding reception place.
You can check out the menu online; they have a decent selection of both sandwiches and dinner entrees. Beer selection isn't great, but better than most.
I don't remember my visit there, which was last summer so it wasn't terribly memorable. I think I had one of the wraps, which was good but seemed a little overpriced... I think they do lower their prices during non-tourist season though. |

yuppers (sortof near...citi's in state line, close enough imo)...

Yeah the have a small drive to work, but it is closer than when they worked in Harrisburg |

Carlisle has huge appeal, and it's not just proximity to Harrisburg.
Carlisle is slightly smaller than Chambersburg, yet the crime rate there (particularly in minor offenses, domestic violence, etc.) is far, far lower. And that's not per capita.
Carlisle also has a lot more money running through it than Chambersburg, particularly with the prestigious Dickinson College/School of Law and the Army War College. Dining and entertainment options in particular are far superior to Chambersburg's. It also has more historical significance, despite the famous burning of Chambersburg, with many historical buildings with ties to both the American Revolution and the Civil War.
Then there's the car shows.
So, Carlisle certainly has its merits and I compare it directly to C'burg because of the similar size of the two towns. |

There is nothing that I like in Chambersburg. If America were to get an enema the hose would go right into Chambersburg Pa. |

I think that might be pushing it just a bit... we're all holding out hope for some downtown revitalization and there finally seems to be some support for it.
