Oh, you better believe I'm stirrin' the pot... if it's a nice carbonnade!
I know, i know... I feel like I've given up, that the time for civil discussion is long past. I'm the one who said we need more people of dissenting opinion in here, but I guess it brings new meaning to "be careful what you wish for."
Speaking of that house on the intersection of Scotland and Norland... I know exactly what you mean! They had a Santorum sign on their lawn for months. And you have got to be one hard-core, crazy a-s-s conservative to keep a Santorum sign on your lawn for the better part of the year. The house is actually pretty nice (could use some upkeep) but I hate it because making a right turn there is a nightmare.
Yeah, I mean when someone comes in though and starts spouting off about "tax & spend democrats" and "liberals, libs, libbys" or whatever else is supposed to be insulting to everyone in the world that doesn't think exactly the way he does, well, I can only keep up for so long.
But I digress, munchkin seems to have given up but may emerge again this weekend with allegations that Hillary has gas because her hair stylist farted on tape. |

Are you familiar with the house on the corner of Scotland and Norland? The one that is filled with GOPpie signs year round (it seems.)
I just noticed it doesn't have a McCain sign out (yet) and I often wonder who lives there. I understand putting up a sign when you really, really, really want to get that person in office, but there have been a few times where I have wondered if they even knew the platform of some of the candidates they were supporting through signage. Or is the only thing that matters that they have an (R) next to their name.
I ask you, because as involved as you are in your party's politicking, I bet you know them.
So does it matter to you? Or do you operate under the assumption that any Republican will always be better than any Democrat? |
I am not familiar with the house, but I am happy to answer your questions
I am a Ronald Reagan conservative. I grew up under Carter and his liberalism. I saw how it ruined America, and most people I talk to are to young to remember how higher taxes, bigger government, and government regulation killed the US economy
With Hillary and Obama we will get more of the same
Do I love McCain - no. But I have no problem voting for someone I disagree with 30% of the time then someone I disagree with 99% of the time
I was angry with McCain over his stand on illegals and wanting to give them amnesty. I think he learned his lesson, when well over 70% of the voters opposed his bill (with Ted "hic" Kennedy)
In this election, I see Democrats voting for the candidate who will give them more then the other candidate
Some people have this entitlement mentality. They expect someone else to pay for some of their living expenses
It can be health care, college, their mortage payment, ect. The fact is someone has to pay for it, and as long as it not them - all is well in their world |

I guess this is a liberals example of having a civil discussion
How is calling a liberal a liberal, or a tax and spend liberal a tax and spend liberal an insult?
Why do liberals hate being called a liberal?
People call me a conservative I tell them thank you |

On Saturday as I was coming out of the Capital Theater, a woman was standing on the sidewalk inviting people to come inside Clinton's campaign headquarters to get a poster or a pin. As I walked on down the street, a woman behind me was complaining that she went in and they were charging for the pins. She came out without one because she didn't want to pay.
Is this common? I thought they gave that stuff away for free. |

I'm not sure how it works.
I know the campaign is hurting for cash.
There's also a big interest in political collectibles, if you hang on to them. And since she is only the second woman I am aware of to run for president and the first First Lady to do so, memorabilia from her campaign will be quite the collectible. Especially if she doesn't win (which she won't) because most people will throw it away.
If it was my thing I'd probably throw a few bucks down on a pin. _________________ Nevermind. |
