I feel bad for the woman but after seeing the press conference I didn't know anymore than I read in the PO.

I am not impressed with this man but no one runs against him so what are we gonna do?????

The first article came out before elections, I remember writing in a name (not that it helped.) I wish there was more I, or any other average citizen could do. (Besides vandalism --- I, for a split second, imagined egging his house, but considering I:
don't know my way around,
don't know where he lives
and I am a grown-up now, no matter what I think, decided against it!!) Razz

It's just so infuriating!

*Edited to add:
This is public information widely available from a number of sources, and the 'official' address of the Office of the Coroner, a public entity. It is not a suggestion to undertake any improper or illegal action.

I find it strange that no one that posted to the article in the PO Online made mention of the fact that they feel sorry for the guy that died.

He probably lived thinking that will that they made up together ( if there was one) would be enough to provide for his girlfriend.
I wouldn't want to die not being able to leave my loved one anything I owned or that they had owned.

But more importantly: Nor would I want my body laying around unclaimed and now what appears to me to be missing!

I was happy before, just worried about you.
I didn't want you in trouble.

At least somebody Rolling Eyes is worried about you, Mr Invincible. Very Happy

(note the smiley)

mymouth: The deceased's situation did not seem to be planned for. To be honest, tho' I feel for his wife, I did not think to feel sorry for him (because I believe he feels nothing now) save for the fact he died alone. I cannot begin to imagine what Ms. Warner must feel about not being able to be there for him.

I believe people are focusing more on the legalities because emotional responses are more easily dismissed. Add to this that the first article printed had to be removed due to attacks on Ms.Warner's character by supporters of her former employer and someone claiming to be the employer.
Some people seem to have the idea that, because of her previous crime, Ms.Warner deserved to be treated this way. Some individuals have gone so far as to state that supporting Ms.Warner is the same as excusing her crime.
Obviously, this line of thought is absolutely ridiculous, but in order to keep the focus on Conner and his misdeeds, I choose to only mention Ms. Warner when posters try to redirect the line of conversation to her past.

Naturally, I cannot speak for everyone and this is just my opinion.

I am sorry I didn't mean to imply any one here not caring about the man. I was talking about all the posts made to the articles for the past few days,I just feel bad that a man died and no funeral no goodbyes nothing like his life wasn't worth anything. ( guess that includes myself because I didn't say anything either) ( sometimes when people post in a forum they don't get across the true meaning of what they write so I apologize)

And yes its ashame some people can't see past her mistakes. She still has feelings and I can't imagine myself loosing all photos and momentos, things passed down from one family member to another of ones life. She has to start over and if she has any family she has none of those items to pass onto her family members.

Too bad the auction house couldn't find the articles they auctioned and ask the people to donate them back to her. (I am sure they have records)

Oh, No need to apologize!!
I did not take your post as an attack on me, rather an observation.

Please don't feel like I jumped on you, that was not my intent.

The most recent article involving this man (that poor Dauphin County family!) and the Topix posts that followed were just...wow. Shocked

How much more do we need to read about? What is it going to take to clean that office out? (I'm not even sure I want him replaced with one of his co-workers or Deputy Assistants if 1) This man trained them and they're used to his 'style' 2) The way people who have identified themselves as his co-workers have responded on Topix. (Granted, there are some awful anti-Conner comments, as well, but the only pro-Conner comments are saw were ugly!)

Has he ever considered a 'ride along' or 'week in the life of' situation, I wonder? I'm sure it would not be pleasant, but sacrifices are sometimes made for the sake of opening dialogue...if he really is required to shoulder the responsibility of determining the who what when where and how with NO extensive training, we have some serious problems in this county!

Don't we have law enforcement trained to do that and skilled medical professionals to perform autopsies and determine cause of death?!

Where is this man's 'official' office (I've heard about his home, but with assistants, what, do they report to is garage??)

This is past infuriating, now I'm just sad...and I want to know everything about his office, procedures, boundaries, qualifications (I know, none), how people are hired for Coroner aides, training, continuing education and every other thing associated.

Now could someone be sweet and fill me in or point me to resources Cool

Start by asking the County Commissioners' Office and the County Election Board for info regarding the office of Coroner (qualifications, terms of office, etc.).

Your local State Representative's office may be of some assistance as well.

Give me 6 months.....I'm currently trying to educate myself on the 'ins & outs' of PA's Right To Know law (which BTW will be changing quite a bit on 1/1/09).

Have you heard any interesting news out of Dickson City, PA?

I thought is was semi-'on topic' since it too relates to an out of control public official. Wink

I'm all over this in my blog, and though the 'incident' is over, the story is NOT. It's amazing how differently the police report and the video footage portray what happened.
