I don't think I am, but anything called "The Keg" sounds right up my alley.
I typically hung out at Maxie's, Nikki's (now MCP) and Orky's. Maxie's was the best on Thursday nights; $2.50 pitchers of High Life all day until midnight... it would be packed. Ah, the days when I drank swill beer.
Orky's was always a smoky mess, but who cares when you're 21? The bartenders were downright mean and nasty, but everyone still went. |

Wait.. Maxie's is gone??  is Hub City still around? I like Orky's much more than Wibs or Hot Pointe. Is Bender's bar still around? |

Orky's was indeed a mess, including the steps UP into the bathrooms. I totally fell off the step once |

Maxie's is still rocking and rolling with Craig (Mr. Maxies) and Karaoke once a month. The $2.50 pitchers on Thursdays is still in effect as far as I know.
However, Hub City and Benders... if these are Ship bars, then they're long gone. Knute's took over Connie B's liquor licensing leaving Ship with Hot Point, Wibs, Orky's, MCP, Knute's, Maxie's (beer only) and... am I missing one? |

| Well, actually the one I was thinking of was Black Horse... at least strictly from a bar point of view. Tollgate was sort of just a senior citizen's restaurant and I don't even know where or what the Rustic Inn is. And although I'm a social member of the New Cumberland American Legion, it's not really my crowd (or speed). |

Okay.
I gotta know.
How do you become a 'member'? Is there a secret handshake? Do you wear a fez? Or antlers? What, besides fishbowls, goes on in those places? Do you have to wear pants?

Well I dont even know what the Black Horse is, The Rustic Inn use to be a bar/Restaurant accross from the original Subway beside the laundromat by Pizza N Stuff. For all I know it might be gone |

That is Market Cross Pub now, which was the Silver Fox Pub when I was there (but everyone called it Nikki's).

Nothing secret; it's not the Freemasons. You just have to know someone is a member and have family that served overseas. At least for a social membership. It's a lot of cheap stuff going on; cheap steak, cheap beer (like 50 cent draft cheap; American swill though), fishbowls as you mentioned and most have of a picture of Osama Bin Laden in the urinals (a nice touch).
Other than that, it's just a lot of playing pool and watching Fox News. |

Crazyhorse is fun. I love throwing peanuts on the floor. I don't always even eat the peanuts, just crush them and sweep them onto he floor (i've seldom felt so alive). And who doesn't love eating endangered species? though buffalo is tough and bland

It was overcooked.
Buffalo needs to be rare for edibility.
We used to go to Crazy Horse all the time, recommended it to friends of ours who love steakhouses.
Now, both of them are natural born American citizens, he was a soldier at the time, now he works at Ft. Meade, they have a $400K house and he is of hispanic descent. (Yeah, his ancestors were Mexican and grandparents came here legally.)
They went into Crazy Horse asked for a table for three and were ignored for 45 minutes while other people came in after them were seated. They complained to the hostess repeatedly and she said, "Sorry we just don't have anything for you."
Management wouldn't speak to them that night. They called the next day and were told, "We don't do that here." click. Called the head office and were sent a $10 coupon for Crazy Horse.
Went back.
SAME thing happened.
Kind of hard to spend if you can't even get a table!
So, now I don't go to Crazy Horse anymore.

And based on that story, neither will I.
I thought Crazy Horse handed out cards to people (instead of those vibrating coasters) with ridiculous western themed names on them like Pocahontas and Davy Crockett. Were they just not given one, or was there card never called?
Funny since "Crazy Horse" may or may not be a slightly controversial name in and of itself since Crazy Horse actually fought against the US government during the Great Sioux War of 1876 and defeated Custer at the Battle of Little Bighorn. I just find it amazingly ironic that a business called Crazy Horse would have some sort of prejudice against non-Americans. |
