| Boo to F-M's school board. For those that didn't know... Felmlee Transportation bailed the district out at the beginning of last school year when Gift Transportation quit their routes just before school started. They had to buy buses to cover those routes, and put out a large sum of money in order to have F-M students ready for the first day of school. And, if that wasn't enough, Felmlee's worked in faith without a contract last year, finally receiving the final contract just this past May to sign...and then a month later the school board opens the contracts up for bid. Sounds like this was in the works for quite awhile....maybe it was part of the negotiations for the new superintendant's perks for her new position. No neopotism indeed!!! Hope they have fun trying to find drivers in 3 weeks!!!!! |

Gee, alot of people have read this, but none replied. Guess some more facts need to come out about this. When the drivers met with Decker Transportation, Decker said that they did not have a Federal Tax ID number, and that the employees were responsible for their own taxes. Plus, they wouldn't be contributing to Unemployment Compensation, but would withhold 5 days pay out of 20 and pay that to them during the summer. So, the new employees are making less, have to pay their own taxes, including the full share of Social Security, not just half like any good employer would contribute; their pay is stretched out over 12 months instead of 9, so they can't collect the additional unemployment of the summer like all other bus drivers. And 4 of Felmlee's drivers decided to drive for Decker??? Can we say DUH!!!!!
And a company that deals with State funding from school districts does not have the proper tax ID numbers??? Something fishy is going on here!!!! |

I admit that I have read your posts, but didn't feel I had anything to add. I apologize, if you felt ignored. I just don't think I know enough about the situation to comment.
I promise to think about it and try to come up with something to contribute.
Welcome to the Soapbox!
I realize this arrived a bit late, but we're glad you're here (despite the lack of responses to your post!)
Subjects are a bit hit and miss around here, try not to take it personally, it is certainly not a comment on you as a person!
Look forward to your future postings! _________________ I demand euphoria! |
