This is a great story.

I was drawn to it for two reasons; first, I had a seen a MyFox New York video online reporting on the following story. It was a moving piece, detailing how a lowly, Harlem, NYC subway worker fought off four would-be attackers, unarming one, seriously injuring another, and leaving yet another dead.

Then, I read a real article on the story (above) on the incident and it painted a much different picture of what happened; not just that the man attacked is a hero deserving of respect and admiration, but also that the details of this story are still unclear and that what really transpired is part of an ongoing investigation.

And such is the difference, to me, between Fox and the New York Times. Am I really so wrong Mr. O'Reilly for not boycotting every newspaper that doesn't say what you want them to say?

Seems some desperately wish everything was black and white, cut and dried.

And when questions are raised?---must just be some crazy liberals who are against personal freedom Confused

Everyone has the right to defend themselves, but you've got to be smart about it. It's one thing to carry a knife, a firearm or take some self-defense course, but when push comes to shove you should be capable of recognizing the attacker from the innocent.

Not as easy as it sounds, even for those with a great deal of training.

It's a shame knives are cheaper than tasers or a samaritan (bystander?) may still be alive

Here's one that I don't entirely understand; but I barely understand what truly makes someone "liberal" or "conservative" anyway. The accusation that liberals are against personal freedom, but the ACLU is an evil, liberal organization?

I think it has something to do with a cake, and having it and also consuming it.

Should be interesting to see what the courts do with this issue when it gets reviewed soon. I think the Supreme Court is going to look at DC's law on gun control.

I predict that they will come up with a ruling that will be sufficiently gray, allowing both sides of the issue to claim a 'win' and doing little to effectively change the situation in D.C.

Well I can't agree with that, I think the ACLU should defend all constitutional rights, regardless. Then again, it is basically a lobby group with a lot of support from democrats so i suppose I can see that.

I always thought the big problem conservatives had with the ACLU had to do with NAMBLA.
